Thinking about changing direction?

If you want to enter the world of education then you will need your Level 3 Award. This is a nationally-recognised qualification needed for starting your teaching career. It is the ideal foundation course for anyone looking to teach in the adult education and skills sector. This qualification is open to those aged 19 and over.

Are you an in-house trainer or would like to be one?

Perhaps you are thinking that you would like to achieve some form of training accreditation which is a step up from completing a two day train the trainer course. If so then this course is for you. Times are changing, now legislation is becoming more and more strict, it is important to demonstrate your competence as an in-house trainer, this qualification will be your vehicle for doing this.

Thinking about moving into teaching?

This qualification is ideal for dipping your toes into teaching by demonstrating your competence as a teacher and commitment by completing a short course in your own time and improving your chances to be shortlisted for a Teaching Position

If you work in a private or public education environment, have plenty of experience but hold no formal teacher qualification this could be the course to complete for you to demonstrate your knowledge and skills.

What exactly happens on the course?

Starting early in January 2024, the course consists of a total of five online sessions and a final full day face to face session. It will take you step by step through the course over a period of three months. It is scheduled on a Saturday Morning, with the exception of the final day being a full day to make it easier to fit into other working commitments and around family life. Each session is geared to consolidating the work done previously, evaluating your progress and giving you the relevant information to continue with your self initiated work.

There will be no more than 10 students on the course to ensure that each receives sufficient individual attention. I would like to enrol

The cost of the course is £500 which includes your enrolment fee. This can be paid in full in advance of the start of the course or a deposit of £250 can be paid to secure your place on the course and the balance paid on completion of session 2. You can download the enrolment form by clicking the button below. Please complete and return the form by email. Making sure to keep a copy for yourself. Payment details are given on the enrolment form. Full course payment will need to be made no later than 30 November 2023.

 If you feel at any point that you would like some additional support, one to one sessions can be scheduled at a cost of £50 per hour.

Some information on Astute and the course tutor

Astute is a training company run by Fiona Cummins. She has been a trainer and also a Learning and Development Manager for over 25 years within Logistics, Energy and Waste and Utilities Sector for Operational staff to the Senior Management Team. Her focus is providing practical training to all and is also an IQA and an Assessor. She also holds a number of qualifications.
